McInnis works to paint Hickenlooper as flip-flopper at tea-party event
ESTES PARK - Speaking to a few hundred tea party activists Tuesday, Republican gubernatorial candidates Dan Maes and Scott McInnis laid out similar agendas of battling illegal immigration, cutting taxes for businesses, and making oil and gas drilling a priority again in Colorado. But as Maes targeted McInnis, it was clear McInnis was setting his sites on Democratic candidate John Hickenlooper in an attempt to paint him as a flip-flopper.

Hickenlooper defends Denver against ‘sanctuary city’ charges
Democratic candidate for governor John Hickenlooper defended himself last week against mounting accusations from Republicans that, as mayor, he has run Denver as a so-called sanctuary city, where illegal immigrants are directly and indirectly protected against federal immigration laws and possible deportation. It's a charge that has gained traction in the weeks since Arizona lawmakers passed a controversial suite of immigration laws and as the move to remake federal immigration policy in Washington heats up.

Hickenlooper calls on oil and gas industry to disclose fracking chemicals
Denver Mayor and Democratic gubernatorial candidate John Hickenlooper Tuesday called on oil and gas companies to disclose the chemical formulas being used in the drilling process of hydraulic fracturing, or “fracking.” Speaking at a Denver Petroleum Club forum Tuesday, the former geologist turned restaurant mogul took a definitive stance on the controversial process, which is used to increase production in the majority of natural gas wells drilled in Colorado.

Hickenlooper, McInnis face off at energy policy forum
DENVER-- Candidates for governor Democrat John Hickenlooper and Republican Scott McInnis faced off on energy policy at the Denver Athletic Club Tuesday before a crowd of roughly 250 oil and gas executives and environmentalists. McInnis came out strong against recent regulations on the industry, which he again argued cost the state jobs, as he has argued countless times over the past year. Hickenlooper said regulations could certainly be tweaked but he argued they played a minimal role in industry unemployment in the state.
McInnis touts transparency, dodges media and ProgressNow
DENVER-- Progressive activist group ProgressNow called for greater transparency from Republican candidate for governor Scott McInnis Tuesday outside the Denver Athletic Club, where McInnis was scheduled to debate Democratic candidate and Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper. The group hoped to give McInnis a petition from nearly 2000 Coloradans asking him to disclose more of his personal financial history.
