Increasing his lead from a single point a week ago, Barack Obama now leads John McCain among likely voters in Colorado by 6 points, according to a Rasmussen poll released Monday. At the same time, Rasmussen moved the state from "Toss-Up" to "Leans Democratic" in its Balance of Power tally, which is based on factors in addition to the latest surveys.

A TV ad tying Alaska Gov. By the numbers: Obama’s got the edge
I've found a few very good polls on Barack Obama and John McCain's first debate, and they all say the same thing: Obama handily beat McCain. CBS: 39 percent for Obama and 24 percent for McCain. CNN: 51-38. USA Today/Gallup: 46-34. But as usual the top line numbers only tell part of the story.

Poll talk … and the winner is?
Everyone is talking about polls. Fair enough. We are finally in the season when, to some minor extent, polls can be consulted for a sense about where this seemingly very tight race for the presidency is headed. So let's get clear about some basics:
Obama keeps slight edge in Colorado, Palin effect mixed
A Public Policy Polling survey released Thursday shows Barack Obama maintaining a single-point lead over John McCain in Colorado, down from a 4-point lead in two previous surveys. The poll also shows McCain running mate Sarah Palin swaying male voters to the Republican ticket even though her effect on the contest is basically a wash.
