Rasmussen poll gives new meaning to ‘Hollywood flop’
While politically-active screen stars and musical legends crawl all over the Centennial State scavenging for votes, a hefty proportion of the American public would rather they slink back to the Hollywood Hills and stay there.
Poll: Obama ahead by 8 points in Colorado, wins Hispanics 4-to-1
Barack Obama is "firmly ahead" in the hard-fought contest for Colorado's nine electoral votes, polling 53 percent to John McCain's 45 percent, according to a Politico/Insider Advantage poll released Tuesday night. Obama and McCain, however, are statistically tied in bellwether Jefferson County — unchanged since two weeks ago — the poll found.
A handicapped cabinet: Running a presidential slate is a bad idea
The independent media/polling firm Rasmussen Reports recently decided, for whatever reason, to conduct a poll on whether people want presidential candidates to announce their cabinet choices before the election. While the idea of having a cabinet vetted by the voters may seem appealing, the reality of making those choices during the heat of a campaign has some serious drawbacks, both politically and in terms of effective governance after the election.

Rasmussen poll shows Obama maintains Colorado lead
Colorado voters favor Barack Obama over John McCain by 5 points — tightening from a 7-point lead three days earlier — according to a Fox News/Rasmussen Reports poll released Monday. McCain hasn't led in the critical battleground state poll for a month.
Obama wins youth vote
The votes are in, and Obama has won America's youth vote in a landslide! No, I don't mean 18-24-year-olds, I'm talking grade school here. Scholastic, that purveyor of books, news, and study aids for children, has tallied the results from just shy of a quarter of a million kids, and Obama beat McCain 57-39. So why does that matter? Because since 1940 the results of the student vote in Scholastic's Election Poll have mirrored the outcome of the general election in all but two cases.

Hotline moves Colorado out of toss-up, into ‘solid Obama’
The political insider site The Hotline on Tuesday moved Colorado from the state's lone "toss-up" status to "solid Obama," helping increase the Democrat's lead in electoral votes to 361 out of 270 needed to win election. Most strikingly, according to Hotline's projections, Barack Obama holds a victorious 297-143 electoral vote advantage over John McCain even without considering leaning states.
New presidential polling in Colorado varies in results
Two new presidential polls out today gauging Colorado support of Barack Obama and John McCain show wildly different results with one poll putting Obama ahead of McCain by 9 points while the other shows Obama ahead by 4 points.
Election obsession: When one poll isn’t enough…
Last week, my crystal ball predicted an Obama victory, but if you'd like to follow the polls and make up your own mind, this revolution of the intertubes makes it ridiculously easy. From the possibility of a presidential landslide to a filibuster-proof Senate majority and on down to Congressional pickups, election nerds can track this year's race like never before.

PPP Colorado poll: Obama up 10, Udall crushing Schaffer
A new voter snapshot released by Public Policy Polling spells good news for the Obama-Biden presidential ticket and U.S. Senate candidate Mark Udall with each campaign leading its opponent by 10 points overall and seemingly insurmountable leads with key constituency groups.
Colorado only remaining toss-up state, Hotline says
Colorado's nine electoral votes are the only ones in the nation not leaning toward either Barack Obama or John McCain, according to an Electoral College projection Friday by the National Journal's Hotline that shows Obama approaching a landslide victory. The political digest's projection puts Obama at 349 electoral votes vs. 180 for McCain, a shift of 36 in Obama's direction since earlier this week. A nominee requires 270 votes to win the presidency.
