In 2008 Barack Obama defeated John McCain in Colorado by roughly 215,000 votes. A new Center for American Progress study demonstrates that the number of unregistered but eligible Latino voters in the state is greater than the number of votes that decided the presidential contest-- and that that is the case in most of the battleground states in the country.

La Raza announced late Friday that it was calling off its boycott of Arizona which has been in place since SB 1070 became law in May 2010.

Addressing the National Council of La Raza’s annual conference, President Barack Obama argued that there was little he could do on crucial issues such as immigration reform and lowering unemployment without the support of congressional Republicans.
