Answer: Not many people.
In his bid for the Republican nomination for governor, Larimer County Commissioner Lew Gaiter had raised about $4,000 from people other than himself after putting $7,000 of his own money into his campaign, according to the National Institute on Money in State Politics.
Stewart and Cheri Myott, of Fort Collins, each gave him $575. Stewart works in the communications and electronics business. A dozen or so others gave him between $10 and $575.
During a one-on-one debate in September with Democratic gubernatorial candidate Erik Underwood, Gaiter said he was likely raising the least amount of money in the race.
