Last week, on a walk in my neighborhood, I noticed a man standing outside the window of a room at a memory care center, a nursing home that specializes in caring for people with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Knowing that visits aren’t allowed in residential facilities because of the threat of coronavirus exposure, I asked if he was there to visit a family member. He said yes, his mom, Celeste. That man, Skip Thurman, graciously allowed me to shoot this video of their visit – a new normal for many families separated by COVID-19 restrictions. Susan Greene, editor
