On those mornings after the first big valley snowfall, I usually race around like crazy, trying to find a new vantage point to record the magical transformation. Last weekend, I didn’t have to go far. Rain changed to snow early in the morning and the wet aspen leaves and branches in the trees outside our house seemed to catch every flake in a clash of seasons. Since there didn’t seem to be any real urgent reason to go all the way outside, I just brewed another cup of coffee, opened the window all the way and snapped a few dozen frames, hoping for the best. With blurry snowflakes in the background and the wind pushing the leaves around, relied on manual focusing for the two leaf shots in this set.
