[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he greatest story in the run-up to the Super Bowl this Sunday is the same as it is every year: There’s no real story — except, maybe, that in a split-screen Skype video chat captured on hastily set up demonstration Call Recorder software, Colorado Independent columnist Mike Littwin teased out a game-winner prediction from star sports columnist Dave Krieger, an admitted horrible prediction maker.
“I’m from Denver, so my bias is there,” says Krieger, “but I would be shocked if this game is going to be as close as most people seem to think it’s going to be.”
“So you’re advising people to give the points? Can we say that?”
“Oh yeah, if you can give three or less… if you can give less than a field goal. I mean, again, the caveat being that I’m almost always wrong when I make bets, which is why I do it very seldom. But, yes, I would advise giving the points.”
There it is, sports lovers, Broncos fans, gamblers. You heard it here first.
The two cut-ups also touch on, among other things, agile Pot Roasts, Manning-versus-Elway legacy bragging rights and New Jersey-politics/Fort Lee-Washington Bridge tragi-comedy.
