Oh, it’s good to be in Congress. The annual ranking of the net worth of every member of Congress was released this week and once again Rep. Jared Polis, D-Boulder, is the richest member of the Colorado delegation, with a net worth of approximately $143 million, putting him in 6th place of all members of the House and Senate.
He’s roughly seven times as rich as the other eight members of the delegation put together.
The richest member of Congress is Rep, Darrell Issa, R-CA, with a net worth of about $448 million.
Members of Congress report their material holdings within ranges, and for each item reported, the middle of the range was used. Some members may be considerably richer or poorer than the calculation indicates. Primary residences were not included, neither was personal property.
Sen. Michael Bennet was second on Colorado’s list, 51st overall, with a net worth of $12.2 million.
