Comedy Central’s Stephen Colbert might be ready to flex the muscles of his newly established Super PAC, and he seems willing to begin the work-out in Iowa.
On The Colbert Report Monday night, the comedian told other potential PACs hoping to back Texas Gov. Rick Perry to back off, “I saw him first.”
According to Colbert, he will premiere an ad in Iowa Wednesday night during news broadcasts in the Des Moines area. A clip of that portion of the show is embedded below:
Perry, a long-time rumored candidate for 2012, is expected to clear the air on Saturday during a speech in South Carolina. He has also been tapped, according to the Associated Press, to headline the Black Hawk County GOP Lincoln Dinner on Sunday in Waterloo, a day following the Ames Straw Poll.
