Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet will participate in the Responsible Fiscal Policy for Growth and Stability Panel this morning at 8 am.
The Center for American Progress Action Fund and the Embassy of Switzerland will host the discussion on approaches to manage fiscal policy.
Bennet has called for a comprehensive plan to reduce the deficit. He is supporting the work of the Senate’s ‘gang of six,’ which is crafting legislation based on the Fiscal Commission’s proposal. Last month, Bennet teamed with Senator Mike Johanns (R-NE) leading 62 other Senators in calling on President Obama to include a comprehensive deficit reduction package in any negotiations on the budget.
Other speakers include Sarah Rosen Wartell, executive vice president of the CAP Action Fund, Manuel Sager, ambassador of Switzerland to the United States, Jason Furman, deputy director of the National Economic Council, Philipp Heldebrand, president of Swiss National Bank, Martin Senn, CEO of Zurich Financial Services Ltd., and Michael Ettlinger, vice president of economic policy at CAP Action Fund.
