The White House Correspondents Association Monday announced it was giving Fox News a front-row seat in the White House press room. Fox had pushed for legendary Hearst reporter Helen Thomas’s prized front-row middle seat after she was forced to retire in June. In the end, her seat went to the Associated Press. In reporting the news of the seat shuffle, the AP doesn’t exactly live up to the “relentless” and “demanding” reputation proudly established by Thomas over the course of her five decades in the room.
“The bid from Fox for a front-row seat sparked a protest from some over the network’s perceived right-wing leanings,” the AP reported. “Perceived right-wing leanings”? Now that’s telling it like it is!
That’s Thomas in the blue top in the middle of the row being relentless and demanding. Thomas is the daughter of Lebanese immigrants to Kentucky. She resigned in the wake of comments she made outside a Jewish Heritage Celebration Day event.
Israel should “get the hell out of Palestine,” she said. Jews should go back to “Poland, Germany…. and America and everywhere else.”
