In the West Foyer of the Capitol Tuesday, Governor Bill Ritter will celebrate national health care reform legislation by announcing the introduction of the state’s new temporary insurance program for Coloradans with preexisting medical conditions.
“Thousands of Coloradans are unable to get health insurance because of pre-existing conditions,” Ritter said. “I look forward to working together with partners Rocky Mountain Health Plans and CoverColorado to provide Coloradans who have been denied coverage access to much-needed relief through this temporary insurance plan. This will be an important step toward improving the health security of Colorado families.”
Colorado is one of 30 states hosting a temporary pool of insurers that will offer benefits through 2014 for people who have been uninsured at least six months.
