Amendment 46, the Colorado Civil Rights Initiative, has failed. The Rocky Mountain News just posted the outcome of the race on its election results page; the contest was in limbo for the past day and a half.
This marks the first time that a Ward Connerly supported anti-affirmative action ballot amendment has been struck down by voters. A similar initiative passed in Nebraska on Tuesday.
According to the Rocky, the initiative failed with 50.6 percent of Colorado voters saying ‘no’ and 49.4 percent voting ‘yes.’
