Journalist Greg Palast — famous for uncovering disenfranchisement of black voters during the 2000 Florida election while working for the BBC — has just finished a cross-country tour investigating allegations of voter fraud in numerous battleground states, and says that Colorado could be the scene of widespread election problems.
According to a recent interview on the news program Democracy Now!, Palast said he found problems in Colorado, particularly relating to voter purging:
You’re going to have millions of people walk into the voting booth, if you’re in Colorado, especially in New Mexico, Nevada, Ohio, Michigan — if you have any foreclosure problems, anything, they’re going to tell you you can’t vote, and they’re going to try to either get you out of the voting booth or give you a provisional ballot. And what we’re trying to tell you is how you can, in effect, steal it back.
Palast has authored a new book with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. titled Steal Back Your Vote!, focusing on disenfranchisement issues and what to do about them. He has also written an article further detailing his findings that is set to appear in Rolling Stone this week.
