UPDATE: Read our liveblog of the Obama rally in Golden.
Barack Obama will hold an event Tuesday morning at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, the Obama campaign announced Saturday morning. The appearance follows rallies on Monday in Pueblo and Grand Junction as Obama makes a return to the state where he accepted the Democratic nomination for president two weeks ago.
It’ll be the second presidential campaign event in Golden in as many days. Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin speaks Monday morning at the Jeffco Fairgrounds. Tickets for that event have all been distributed, the McCain campaign said Friday afternoon.
Tickets are required for the Obama event, set to kick off at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Lockridge Arena, 1651 Elm St., on the CSM campus in Golden, about 15 miles west of downtown Denver. Doors open at 7:00 a.m. Space is limited and tickets are available first-come, first-served. Pick them up 10 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday and Monday at the campaign’s Jefferson County offices:
• 710 Golden Ridge Road, Suite 108, Golden
• 7402 West 57th Ave., Arvada
• 19423 North Turkey Creek Road, Suite 1, Morrison
• 9797 W Colfax Ave., Lakewood, CO
The Obama campaign said bags and personal items should be kept to a minimum to speed security screening. Signs and banners aren’t permitted.
