Denver male prostitute Mike Jones rallied at a Democratic National Convention support-the-troops counterprotest across Colfax Avenue from Civic Center Park in Denver on Sunday morning. Throngs of anti-war protesters gathered near the state Capitol, but Jones sided with a small pro-war faction. Jones gained fame last year for outing Ted Haggard, founder of Colorado Springs’ evangelical New Life Church. Haggard reportedly paid Jones for sex and used meth in Jones’ presence.
“Isn’t it funny that if you are gay you are not supposed to be patriotic?” said Jones. “I am gay, but I am an American first because I value our freedom.”
