Fresh polling that shows Rep. Mark Udall leading his Republican opponent former Rep. Bob Schaffer was released today.
The poll, commissioned by CBS4 Denver and the Rocky Mountain News, puts Udall ahead by 6 points holding a 44 percent to 38 percent margin. The latest poll is inline with others done by Rasmussen Reports and Public Policy Polling that show Udall ahead in the race to replace the retiring Sen. Wayne Allard, a Republican.
Although the number of polls showing Udall beating Schaffer should excite some Democrats, they shouldn’t start popping the champagne just yet.
As PPP and Rasmussen have shown, Udall’s lead over Schaffer has shrunk in recent months despite some unfavorable news coverage about Schaffer.
