Former state Senate president raises just under $255,000 in the 4th quarter. Blistering fundraising pace continues in the CD-02.Congressional candidate Joan Fitz-Gerald reports that her campaign raised $254,861 in the fourth quarter of 2007, while Jared Polis also saw strong financial support with $251,909 over the same period.
The third candidate in the race, Will Shafroth, reported earlier this month that he had raised $237,000 in the fourth quarter.
According to campaign news releases, Polis has raised a total of $1.1 million for the campaign so far; Fitz-Gerald, $880,000; and Shafroth nearly $750,000. The race is shaping up to be the most expensive primary in the country this year, and may be one of the most expensive primaries ever.
At the end of the reporting period, Shafroth has $520,000 on hand; Fitz-Gerald has $521,000; and Polis $354,000. More details will be available in mid-February when the Federal Election Commission reports are compiled and released.
