An exhibit of art honoring people across the world who have been affected by women’s cancer will open Nov. 5 at the University of Colorado Cancer Center at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora.
Lilly Oncology on Canvas is a collection of artwork by female cancer patients as well as their families, friends and medical providers. The collection was put together in 2004 through an international art competition in which entrants were encouraged to “use art as a means of expressing the struggles and successes in battling cancer.”
Lilly Oncology on Canvas has traveled to hundreds of countries around the globe and will come to Colorado Nov. 5 through Nov. 20. Fifty pieces of art will be in the lobby of the Anschutz Cancer Pavilion. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
