Early CD-2 fundraising totals: Shafroth $208,000; Polis $365,000; Fitz-Gerald to file on Monday.Fundraising in the expensive race for the Democratic nomination to represent the second congressional district in Congress continues at a furious pace.
Will Shafroth reports raising $208,259 in the fundraising quarter that ended on October 1. Jared Polis reported last week that he had raised $350,000 in cash and $15,000 in-kind for a total of $365,000.
Joan Fitz-Gerald’s campaign said it will announce it’s third quarter results on Monday, when the reports are filed with the Federal Election Commission.
Shafroth, a long-time Colorado environmentalist who heads the Colorado Conservation Trust, also reported $71,906 in expenses, with $424,556 cash on hand. Sixty-five percent of the donations to Shafroth’s campaign were from within Colorado, averaging $475 per donor.
Polis reported last week that he had increased his fundraising total to about $650,000. IN fact, Polis raised more money in the second fundraising quarter than he did in the first, while Shafroth’s pace slowed. The Shafroth campaign raised $300,000 in the first fundraising quarter.
