Mitt Romney was the big draw this week at the Lincoln Day Dinner in Colorado Springs, but after the presidential candidate was long gone, other speakers stepped right up.
The speech billed as “Seven Minutes of Wisdom from Wadhams,” for example, involved Colorado GOP Party Chairman Dick Wadhams making fun of Congressman Mark Udall for his idea to establish a Department of Peace, making fun of state Rep. Michael Merrifield for his past “special place in hell” comment about two recalled school board members — and dogging Gov. Bill Ritter for signing legislation to help pay for public education.
