To determine which Colorado newspaper publishers and executives donated to federal candidates and causes, the Federal Elections Commission advanced individual query function was used. Terms such as “news,” “publisher,” “editor” and “media” were searched in employer/occupation for the state of Colorado. Names produced in those searches were then searched seperately.
Also searched were the names of current publishers at the Greeley Tribune, Grand Junction Sentinel, Steamboat Pilot, Vail Daily, Summit Daily News, Daily Camera, Colorado Daily, Colorado Springs Gazette, Rocky Mountain News and the Aspen Times. Those searches came up empty.
