Democrat Angie Paccione, who narrowly lost her bid for congress in CD-4 against Marilyn Musgrave in 2006, has formally filed her statement of candidacy to run again in 2008.
With many other Democrats looking at running in 2008, including Betsy Markey, an aide to Sen. Ken Salazar, and state Senator Brandon Shaffer, Paccione probably felt that she needed to officially plant her flag in the ground before someone else could beat her to it. Former Reform Party candidate Eric Eidsness has changed affiliations to run as a Democrat in 2008, but other than Eidsness the field was still wide open until Paccione’s filing.
