The University of Illinois law school is gloating over its pick up of two University of Colorado superstar tax professors. The following was reported by the Tax Prof Blog quoting a University of Illinois newsletter:
The College of Law is delighted that Professors Victor Fleischer and Miranda Perry have accepted offers to join the faculty next Fall. Described by many as one of the legal academy’s most admired “power couples,” Professors Fleischer and Perry join the University of Illinois after serving on the faculty of the University of Colorado School of Law, both as scholars of tax law.
While no firm reasons for the move were provided, the possibility that the cash strapped University of Colorado law school in Boulder couldn’t offer as lucrative a compensation package as the University of Illinois is a distinct possibility.
Similar concerns have been raised regarding some of the University of Colorado’s high profile science faculty in recent years.
