They packed the Old Supreme Court Chambers, and descriptions of the resolution ran the full gamut: “weak,” “very modest,” “not strong enough,” “sending a bad message,” “offensive.”
Dozens of people filled several hours with stories of war and peace, supporting and opposing Senate Joint Memorial 2, calling on the president and congress to “stop the escalation of the war in Iraq.”
The mothers and fathers of soldiers in Iraq testified – in favor and opposition. Soldiers who have served in Iraq, and in Vietnam, and in Korea, and in World War II, testified – in favor and opposition. Peace activists testified –
