More than 600 doses of emergency contraception have been given away so far today by Planned Parenthood locations in Colorado, says Kate Horle, vice president of public affairs for Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains (PPRM). Emergency contraception, sold as Plan B, is now available without a prescription, but prices can range as high as $60 per dose. And that’s if you can find a pharmacy that stocks it. To increase awareness of emergency contraception, Planned Parenthood is giving away Plan B nationwide today to anyone 18 or over who asks for it. PPRM, which covers more than just Colorado, has given away more than 900 doses so far today.
