An event to raise money for congressional candidate Bill Winter will be held this evening in Denver, with the keynote speaker being Virginia Governor Mark Warner. Also attending the event will be Democratic candidates Ed Perlmutter (CD-7), Angie Paccione (CD-4), and Jay Fawcett (CD-5).Winter, who is challenging Rep. Tom Tancredo in the sixth congressional district, won an Internet contest last July, with the prize being a fundraiser attened by Warner. Winter competed against other national Democratic candidates for the reward, and won when a majority of on-line voters choose him.
Such an event could give much needed money to a campaign competing against a four-term incumbent like Tancredo. After the event, there will be a Q&A session with Winter, answering questions the media may have about the campaign.
