Senate District 32 Neighbors Express Support for Grassroots Candidates
DENVER – The Mello for Senate Campaign unveiled the personal support stories of several Democratic voters of Senate District 32 today on the campaign website at http://www.votemello.com/fans.htm.
“Jennifer is the type of person who gives me faith in our political system. She makes me believe that good people can be elected to office,” says Corinne Magid, attorney, wife and mother, whose support is profiled on Mello’s website.
“Seniors have a right to enjoy the last of their years, and I feel that Jennifer Mello understands these issues and wants to make a difference in these lives,” says Rachel Hernandez, who runs a food bank for seniors in need. Hernandez is also one of Mello’s profiled supporters.
Daily, in pouring rain or 100 degree heat, Mello continues to knock on the doors of thousands of voters, garnering the support of neighbors from all walks of life. The Jennifer’s Fans section of the website highlights the thoughts of some of these supporters, including Superman.
“One of our supporters walked her neighborhood recently, handing out Mello campaign brochures,” Mello explained. “Her son insisted on walking with his mom in his Superman pajamas. You certainly cannot argue with a super hero,” laughed Mello, adding that Superman Carter and his parents are also profiled in the Fans section of her website.
Mello is competing in a three-way Democratic primary on August 8, 2006, for a seat being vacated by retiring Senator Dan Grossman. Mello’s name will be first on the ballot, because she received 60 percent of delegate votes at the Denver County Assembly in March.
