Gabriel Nathan Schwartz, 29 and reportedly single, was robbed after he met a woman in the bar of the swanky Ivy Hotel in downtown Minneapolis and took her to his $319-a-night room.

“Victim reported suspect made victim drinks, told him to get undressed, which is the last thing he remembers,” according to the police narrative. “Upon waking, victim discovered money, jewelry gone; total loss over $120K.”

The haul, according to Pioneer Press reporter David Hanners, included a $30,000 watch, a $20,000 ring, a necklace valued at $5,000, earrings priced at $4,000 and a Prada belt valued at $1,000.

The theft allegedly occurred hours after GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s Sept. 3 acceptance speech — and also hours after Schwartz provided a particularly candid interview about his political views to LinkTV.org, in which he cheerfully opined that he is for “less taxes and more war.”

The United States, he said with a grin, should “bomb the hell” out of Iran, since it poses a threat to Israel.

And how should America pay for this attack against Iran?

“We should plant a flag. Take the oil, take the money,” he said. “We deserve reimbursement.”

Schwartz declined to comment to the Pioneer Press since the investigation is ongoing. But his flip comments and smug attitude during his TV interview has prompted the well-known Washington blogger Wonkette to weigh in — in spades. And suffice to say, she isn’t exactly feeling sorry for the victim of the theft.

Rather, in a scathing diatribe, Wonkette waxes on about “instant karma” — and what that means for “vulgarian lawyers” who wear tacky, jewel-encrusted wardrobes and cannot correctly pronounce the word “nuclear.”
