After losing his bid for state Senate District 34, Rep. Joel Judd, D-Denver, issued a statement to his supporters Tuesday acknowledging his opponent, Sen. Lucia Guzman, D-Denver, as a competent representative for the people and encouraging further Democratic activism.
COMMERCE CITY– Democratic gubernatorial candidate John Hickenlooper presented his “road map” (Video part 1) (Video part 2) for Colorado job creation and economic growth last week. The road map puts him at odds with some Democratic members of the Colorado legislature who took pains this session to repeal the state’s so-called “enterprise zones” where businesses are exempted from paying taxes. Hickenlooper told the Colorado Independent that he strongly supported enterprise zones as a way to spur new business activity and that as governor he would look to promote them as a first order of business.
A Senate bill introduced this week and sponsored by Scott Renfroe, R-Greeley, aims to suspend the governor’s authority to limit citizens’ access to firearms during a state of disaster emergency.
DENVER– In a speech announcing his candidacy for governor Tuesday afternoon, Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper sought to emphasize the independent nature of his leadership style and record in public service, an attempt to erect an early firewall against Republican attacks levied for months against Gov.
