ASPEN — Flowers are blooming along the sidewalks. Snow on the mountains is melting fast. Residents here aren’t sure whether to ski or golf. But most of them are certain of one thing: Climate change is for real.
A second blow was dealt Thursday to a proposal to construct a 501-mile pipeline from Wyoming’s Flaming Gorge to Colorado’s Front Range when the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) deemed the application premature. Opponents quickly questioned how Colorado leaders could take the project seriously considering the Army Corps of Engineers rejected an earlier application.
Kathleen Curry, a three-term state representative from Gunnison, hopes to spark an independent revolution on Colorado’s Western Slope with her write-in candidacy for House District 61 in November.
