Democrat Bill Ritter picked up a key endorsement today when the Rocky Mountain News joined The Grand Junction Sentinel and Montrose Daily Press in backing him for governor over Republican Bob Beauprez…even though the News endorsed Beauprez both times he ran for congress.

Congress doesn’t have time before recess to get much done-except, apparently, to push through an National Rifle Association (NRA)-backed bill that would undermine the ability of the federal government to crack down on gun dealers who violate the law. The bill has the the support of several members of the Colorado congressional delegation.
