ARIZONA VOTED AGAINST MCCAIN

I love the fact that John McCain blames the vote going against the bailout on Obama. But there is an interesting fact out there. ALL the representatives from Arizona voted against the bailout? It just shows how much the other reps from AZ respect McCain. If he can't get the republicans from his home state to vote with him how is he going to get the rest of the nation to work with him. Maybe they are angry because while McCain brags that in 26 years he has never done anything for his home state, they are all stuck working for the people of Arizona in DC.

ARIZONA
Democrats — Giffords, N; Grijalva, N; Mitchell, N; Pastor, N.
Republicans — Flake, N; Franks, N; Renzi, N; Shadegg, N.

McCain said to the Wall Street Journal, in November 2005: "I'm going to be honest: I know a lot less about economics than I do about military and foreign policy issues. I still need to be educated."

In December 2007, McCain similarly said: "The issue of economics is not something I've understood as well as I should.”

In December 2007 McCain again made a similar statement, while also saying that he'd like to appoint a vice presidential running mate who is "intimately familiar" with economics, Sarah Palin?
Is this the financial genius we are talking about?

The Chicago Tribune Interview 12/07: McCain said, "The issue of economics is something that I've really never understood as well as I should. I understand the basics, the fundamentals, the vision, all that kind of stuff,'' he said. "But I would like to have someone I'm close to that really is a good strong economist. As long as Alan Greenspan is around I would certainly use him for advice and counsel..."I've never been involved in Wall Street, I've never been involved in the financial stuff, the financial workings of the country, so I'd like to have somebody intimately familiar with it," he said of a potential vice presidential candidate, that’s Sarah Palin?
GOD HELP US ALL!!!!!

just saw the photo op news shot of mc paine at the white house meeting table.. looking smug
as all get out.. just the look on his face tells you what he did was a total play to heighten his
profile in the campaign.. i hope it backfires on him like a mofo.. in any case i definitely have
less and less respect for him as this campaign moves forward...

Bless you and thank you Colonel.
For all those issues and more, I came to the same conclusion.
Particularly in these times, I find myself repeatedly grateful for the fact that Sen. Obama thinks before he acts, considers consequences of all kinds, lives by his own high standards and example, and shows consistency, fortitude and focus on what is most important.

To your health, and a lot more leaders like Obama in this world,
Karen

McCain s right, these pending issues are very important. However, both candidates should present their positions to the electorate in a debate. They should not go back to Washington and become pawns for the Bush-Chaney sophists that were supposed to prevent this financial crisis.

Great point, and that's exactly what Obama said. From the WSJ:

Democratic rival Barack Obama, later in the day, said the debate should go on as planned. He told reporters, "Presidents are going to have to deal with more than one thing at a time." Sen. Obama said that he saw "no reason why we can't be constructive in helping with this problem" but also keep to the debate schedule previously agreed upon.

Why can't they do both the debate AND work on the economy?

I mean, as president there will be multiple projects and crisis' to be dealt with everyday.

You want the job -- you might as well show us how well you can do that job.

Do BOTH!

Congress is the cause of this mess. That means Obama, Biden and McCain. Does it make a difference that McCain acts like he is going to do something while Obama gives up the pretense that he does anything useful?
