The Employee Free Choice Act makes the ballot an option IF the members call for a ballot. Although most democratic votes are in the open, ie, voice votes or show of hands. Joining a union or another organization should be based on the clear intention of the member, e.g., signing a form to enroll, so spare us the talking point and tell the truth. You want the current system so the ballot vote can be used by management as a way to delay the process and break the union. That is not the intent of a ballot vote it is? But that is the reason to are opposed to the Employee Free Choice Act, because you want unions kept in check. Why not just say that?

At least he got to vote. Think there is any union you would want to vote "no" on at your workplace? AFL-CIO's #1 priority - Employee-Free Choice Act - only lets those seeking union certification decide if employees can vote in a secret ballot election or not. So, if they seek certification based on signed authorization cards, you would never have that chance. Obama has promised to sign it if elected. Don't fall for it.
