Palin is nothing more than a beauty queen who can do a good job of reading a speech that she did not write. Guantanamo is a shameful blot on American History just as the internment of American citizens of Japanese descent, and some American citizens of German descent (couldn't lock them all up or they'd have had to lock up half the country) is a blot we live with even today. <br>There is no excuse for attacking our guarantees of protection from unlawful search/seizure/imprisonment. When the security of our country depends on totally obviating the very principles we are ostensibly *protecting* we've gone very, very wrong... and while I hate spouting *party lines*, we simply cannot survive four more years of the same. <br>The current administration has ripped the Constitution and we need someone with Scotch tape to at least put some patches back on the tears. I don't believe either candidate can actually totally repair it in eight years. As for interning citizens of powers that we were at war with I do believe we have that responsibility, offer a choice of repatriation or internment. It is when we start taking away all their rights, holding them without cause, choices or charges, and torturing them to boot that we break every moral law of humanity. Sometimes I am ashamed of the country I love so much. I can't contribute to the degrading of this country by voting for or supporting any Republican for any office this year and I've been voting for forty years and never voted a straight ticket yet!
