National Journal’s ‘most conservative’ congressman Lamborn has been called a lot of things

Saturday, the National Journal ranked Colorado Fifth District Rep. Doug Lamborn a most conservative member of Congress. He was tied for the highest ranking with six other middle aged men from western desert states, including Arizona’s Trent Franks and John Shadagg and three Texas congressmen.

Lamborn posted a release at his website:

His Most Conservativeness

“I’ve been called a lot of things over the years while serving in public office, but to be called the most conservative member of Congress is a distinct honor. While the pundits and talking heads can debate what it means to be a conservative, there has never been any doubt in my mind it means: fighting for lower taxes, smaller government, and individual freedoms. As a constitutional conservative, I will continue to work hard to be true to this ranking.”

Lamborn’s conservativeness is constrained only apparently by the Constitution.
