		<description>If the public option is absent, what good has any of this done?  Wasn&#039;t competition with the big insurers part of the plan?&lt;br&gt;It clearly mixes church and state which should be a no-no.  Public shaming of women smacks of the Catholic Church and far-right fundamentalism.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;One report I read said that people with pre-existing conditions can still be turned down until 2014.  If true, how does that help someone denied insurance who is suffering from cancer or pre-existing conditions now?&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;It appears that EVERYONE&#039;S cost will go up.&lt;br&gt;I&#039;m sure senior citizens will take a direct hit as well as the hard-working middle class.&lt;br&gt;It seems as if the big insurers/Pharma will have the upper hand even more now.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;So I repeat, what good has any of this done for the average American citizen?</description>
