Thank you for the clarification on this. I stand corrected and I apologize to you. I realize now I was just caught up in that whole entire shameful story. It is guys like Mr. Terrell that poison the System. If it is, in fact, the truth, then I am ashamed people like him are working in any correctional facility as they cast an ugly shadow on those of you who are trying to do a professional job. I am a retired police officer and I know sworn officers who have taken advantage of female prisoners for “favors” and were tried, found guilty by a jury of their peers and were sentenced accordingly. It was their “indiscretion” that forever placed an indelible stain on their record where they can never be allowed to work for any law enforcement agency in the United States ever again as well as their having to become a “registered sex offender.” I have never worked in the field of corrections and I realize that people like yourself who do, as well as those of us who work or have worked in law enforcement, are caught between a rock and a hard place. Going to work in our chosen field is tough as we already have two strikes against us and all it takes is one false accusation . . . a “he said, she said” and it's all over, period. The System isn't perfect even though we would hope and pray some day that it could be. Why it isn't is simply because all of us are not infallible; we're only human and we do make mistakes.

Cr8, you're right, I don't know felons, but I do know decent stndards of human behavior that we all should live by, and looking the other way because someone is a “felon” is not right. Everyone should think about that, look at Martha Stewart…These women are caged and helpless when a predator is in their midst. I'm guessing they are often more likely not to tell what happened to them out of fear of retribution than they are to tell about it.

So far as Mr. Terrell is concerned, he will have his day in court.

I also am trying to understand where you are coming from, in re guards can be falsely accused. We do need changes, whether it be more security cameras, female guards or whatever. It would be to the benefit of both prisoners and guards.

wouldn't it make sense to have only women guards, except in

situations where the men would not ever have a chance to be alone with the women? Something needs to change for these helpless women, to ignore their pleas because they are “felons” is just plain wrong.
