Yes, Spanish is a European Language, however, it also represents a moment of brutal colonization as well. I must also dare to add that “Indigenous” or Natives of this land should apply to anyone who can trace their ancestors back to this continent: North America. BTW: I assume you are aware that America is not the same as saying the United States.

Yeah… it's true. “La Raza” is a loose term for those who are marginalized as “Latin” or “Hispanic.” But not all embrace the term. I am want to say that it is a term that is also complex and suggests an essential political consciousness or activism against those who have brutalized “La Raza” in the name of racial, social, or political superiority.

Isn't it odd that despite the fact that the US shares 2 Borders with French and Spanish Languages, the average US American may only know one language: English. Moreover, most of these people speak and/or write poor English.

Do you know how many people do not speak Spanish? Did you know Illinois is based on an Indian name? Why do I ask? It has as much relevance to the story and discussion as that fact that Colorado may be a Spanish word.

If you want to eliminate all terms and words that have racial connotations from public discussion can we eliminate terms such as La Raza. Isn't thsi a Spanish term that means 'the race'?
