I believe I would rather have my toenails pulled out than be forced to watch a horse killed and butchered, but if we still had horses and found ourselves unable to care for them, and could not find a good..
home healthcare training

Slaughterhouses are not the answer, and what happens behind closed doors is cruel. Animals are left suffering for up to a half hour. This happens to animals that have learned through training to trust humans and then are murdered by them. If you cant support any animal throughout its lifetime, you have NO business owning one. Animals dont have a voice, but if they did, would not ask to be killed after years of loyalty.

What Horowitz said is correct.. I agree with him. he told it takes a lot of money to take care of an old horse and they are not in a situation to provide nursing-home care for animals for our program..
home care provider training

Try to do more research about natural landscapes of North America. There is a real method that someone who own pastures can do. Begin a re planting of native wild grass species and non invasive species, remove the weeds, re place it with native wild ryes, oats, etc. Allow the field to flourish and make sure you remove European weeds. Then, after a year allow the horses to feed after the first few rains. Work on the other side of the field and transfer them back and forth as each field needs time to grow back. Instead of spending all of that money on the hay you can have a sustainable pasture for your livestock during the summer months. It is work though, but worth it in the end. A professional landscaping company with experience can help you do this and is costly at first but will pay off in the end. If you rent the horse out to people who are beginner riders an older horse is perfect as long as it doesn't have serious health issues or is in pain. There are a lot of young people who would be interested in it but it costs too much for them to buy one and the board. Try sharing..

Slaughter is an unintelligent way to kill any animal actually, even the methods they use for cattle. Not with the bare hands. Gross.

Since there are people in college learning to be veterinarians they should run a special program that allows students to get hands on experience. It would be a good idea to have the studs Gelded during the summer. Get these scientists and vets to work. Having a lot of these studs humanely gelded would benefit the horses and bring down their numbers significantly within a few short years. This issue can be handled in a cost effective and civilized manner.
