recourse to counsel Isn't it amazing, or amusing, or maybe both how tradionalists will bemoan anyone else seeking recourse to legal counsel- the dreaded “trial lawyer” such as john Edwards- but then turn around and issue a meaningless threat to do the same over a perceived verbal slight. Edwards, and other trial lawyers, are at least seeking redress for injury caused by corporate malfeasance or misconduct.As the previous poster says “counsel” will likely laugh this twit out of her office shaking her head in disbelief all the while.

Take a Hike…….. There you go again trashing democracy. Most union leaders are volunteers working for what they think is right, but your type fail to mention that. Millions more people would join unions IF they could without being threatening and harassing by people like you.

Well written and blogged. Sounds like the executive order gives the employees a lot to work with.

Choice to affiliate, choice to buy in, or choice to pay dues are choices all Coloradans should enjoy.

Not fair for fat cat union bosses or corporates to make an employee part with percentages of their paycheck for union dues, political actions, or the company 'savings' plan.

Remember earth day approaches on 4/22. Odd it is 2 days after 4/20, that must give time to clear the pollutants of the burnt weed.

Nope Only members of the union pay dues, even though all employees are covered by a union contract which covers wages, health benefits, and paid time off. The executive order essentially makes state partnerships a so-called “right to work” environment. In other words, there won't be a union if employees don't want to be members, and at least in the state patrol case, they obviously do.

Welll, we can hope, at least, that cops…. …won't form a corrupt union or have corrupt leadership, the way every other union seems to be able to do rather easily.

Well… Despite what an anti-union think tank says about Hollywood, state workers in Colorado are not forced to join a union or sign a union card under the executive order. They are also prohibited from striking, and there is also legislation that is likely to be signed by the Governor that would emphasize the no-strike clause.
