Moreover, the reparations the Swiss paid to the Jews was in the form of assets the Nazi's stole from the Jews and held in Swiss banks. Since the slaves did not own any property there is no reason to argue for reparations in that manner either.

Lastly, when one looks at how much blood from slavery falls squarely on the hands of the Democrats who enforced the Jim Crow laws for over 100 years and fought the passing of the 1964 Civil Rights bill tooth and nail (current WV Sen Byrd actually filibustered against the 1964 bill for a whopping 14 hours) one could easily make the claim that were the government to decide to give reparations that payment should come solely from the pockets of the DNC and their supports.

Keep in mind that at the first assembly of the newly created Republican Party their platform was one that was against slavery and for the abolishment of the practice.
