I read THE INDEPENDANT ocasionally. I am amused by their psuedo intellectual, self righteous attitude. I wonder if anyone on your staff understands what the word lobby as used politically, means. “to lobby” etc. For instance. If I go to Washington, contact Mr. Lamborn, and ask him to vote for or against an issue I am interested in, I am a LOBBIEST.

Well, Doug is lying…Appropriation bills are the favorite places to put earmarks. Every earmark goes through a lobbyist, who receives multi-million dollar fees, then they convince a legislator to put in the special project as an earmark in return for a campaign contribution. Every Congressman does it, and it's been going on for over 30 years. He may have not asked for a campaign contribution, but its commonly agreed that is how the earmark will be paid to him.
