Ten or twenty thousand progressive, liberal Californians flooding into this area would make a major impact on Mesa County, one of the most conservative and backwards areas in the state, and a place where --incredibly -- local city council and county commission members still host exclusively Christian prayers at the start of their taxpayer-funded public meetings. I think it's fine to lure Californians, and California businesses, to Colorado. I particularly think we should try to lure them to the Western Slope.
