"American Taliban" has already been used to discribe the pigs that are trying to take over the world:

American Taliban
http://www.perrspectives.com/features/Taliban.htm
Now thanks to the Bush administration, a Republican Congress and the conservative ascendancy, Americans need not travel to Kandahar to learn about the perils of theocratic rule. Right here in the United States, a network of politicians, religious leaders, “faith-based” organizations and (literally) their amen corner are working overtime to make a particularly onerous concept of Christianity the de facto law of the land. Armed with the Bible in one hand and the Patriot Act in the other, George W. Bush and his GOP jihadists threaten to fundamentally change the role of government in monitoring Americans’ lives, liberties and even bodies.

The problem here is that the religious right has a dogmatic interpretation of morality. Their fixed point of view resonates with a particular fraction of believers, but is incompatible with those with more enlightened or simply incompatible moral structures. Unable to or unwilling expand their small universe to encompass a larger purpose and moral understanding about humanity, they will likely seek to pull others into their world with somewhat deceptive tactics.

The old fear, doubt and dread coercive persuasion technique has limited success in our modern technological and rational reality. Today they will likely use less hostile marketing techniques borrowed from capitalism such as attaching a branding their cause. A perception of a brand name can differentiate their "product" from other moral systems that they identify as in competition with theirs. Branding brings with it the benefits of belonging to a group, also perceptions of certainty, consistency, safety, and trust in the product being sold.

Unfortunately, without a real message that is fresh and meets today's moral questions, they will continue to rotate new characteristics and feelings similar to selling soap with "New And Improved" gold stars on the box. Jesus preached the word of God as it was needed at the time. It is unlikely the religious right will be able to add any improvements that apply to today's world.

Isn't anyone who wants their superstitious beliefs to be the law of the land a radical? These "Religious Right" people need to live by their own rules, and let the rest of the reality based population do the same. Everyone has a set of beliefs of some kind, and as long as they are not harming or interfering in others lives, should be allowed to live life as they choose. Does this mean they can try to impose themselves on the rest of us? No, that would fall under the heading of "interfering" in others lives. These "religious" or better still "superstitious" people, are organized to force their "christian" cult behavior on our free society, and are thus referred to as the "Religious Right", and "Fundamentalist" for being radicals. Back off you jerks, we'd all rather not have to refer to you at all, cretins. Keep your "Great Pumpkin" and "Devil", and "Prophets to yourself, or expect to be marginalized.

Failed philosophy needs new marketing slogan.

The religious right seeks to hide its agenda of oppression and misery behind focus-grouped name.

Hate tries to masquerade as love. Or something.
