BP was warned weeks before (by their own team) the Explosion; there was a problem and the well needed to be shut down for a few days while it was investigated. Of course Greed came before safety and that never happened. BP had a track record and THEY knew this could happen.
You forgot about Mr Goldman-Sachs as Secretary of the Treasury. Corporate Cronyism is not dead in Washington, even if the "Party of the People" is in charge. Oh yeah, corporations are legal "persons." That explains what the Party of the People is really all about. We now have two corporate-owned parties and none for us.

Thanks for listing 10 reasons I like Salazar for Secretary of Interior. (You did not number his "decent" score with the League of Republican Voters. ) For a democrat it certainly could have been worse. Hopefully he won't be like Babbit and completely sell out to Eastern and enviro think. At least he seems to understand that energy independence is a national security issue. We have to stay based in reality, and use what works until all the castles in the sky involving wind, solar and bio come to fruition. Hopefully Salazar will remain practical about that. And as a rancher himself, he knows that working with ranches is beneficial to wildlife, the range, preservation of open space, etc, stc. This "corporate welfare for the ranching community" is a lot of bull. Please Mr. Salazar. Prove me right!
