The definition of pregnancy was deliberately changed to class the pill as "contraception". But, regardless of whether or not pregnancy has started, life has begun.

In no way does this restrict abortion; it only insures that health care professionals will not be forced to violate their conscious. This does not restrict doctors from performing abortions, but merely says no doctor may be forced to. Many doctors are fine with performing abortions, and would not be affected by this.

Second of all, this merely enforces laws already on the books.

I'm surprised anyone's actually opposed to this.
At least the other three commenters seem to have common sense.

I am grateful as a health worker that I am not forced to participate in ending the life of anyone, old, young, born, unborn. I would liken those of you who believe a health care worker should be forced to participate in this type of work to the Nazis who forced concentration camp workers to enforce their acts of murderous inhumanity. It is also a blatant lie that this will restrict access to abortion. There are plenty of willing workers who have no objection whatsoever, and the laws pertaining to abortion have not changed. It is still legal throughout the entire 9 months of pregnancy.
