Jason - I think you should be a more fair to Betsy. You know, as well as most readers do, that the Senate Ethics Committee's report as well as the General Services Administration found that Betsy had done nothing wrong! And, her company hadn't as well. Perhaps the only, and truly minor, infraction was someone at the Company website failed to remove "woman owned business". But you also know that they never applied for business contracts based on that. Why - because the paperwork is so huge and the benefits were not very good.

Musgrave's attacks on Betsy have been way out in right field - and she has done this now for her fourth election in a row. Betsy has to respond, as you also know, because we know what happens to candidates when they don't! Recall John Kerry 4 years ago and his ignoring the Swift Boaters. Musgrave is behind in the polls and this is her only way she knows how to fight.

Certainly she is no match to Betsy's intellectual abilities. And, if you needed any support for this comment - just listen to ABC video after Musgrave voted against the bailout bill. See http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=5917670. The other Congresswoman (Kaptur from Ohio) is very articulate and offers specifics about what is/was wrong with the bill. Musgrave basically concurs and adds no substance to what is being said.

Which participant in the debate made every effort to discuss specifics and which one had to stick in unnecessary digs every opportunity she had.

The 4th Congressional District will be much better served by a woman who truly wants to be bipartisan and reach across the aisles when every opportunity lends itself. I think you could see/hear that tonight.

Ann

I'm a big proponent of political debate moderators enforcing the rules for both the candidates in terms of answering questions and reprimanding the audience for interrupting the flow of the conversation, but good grief, this just sounds like a street fight.

Are we witnessing the death of civil discourse in CD 4?
