Comments on: Mail-in ballots short on postage will be delivered

Why doesn't it say on the ballot, the envelope, the green sleeve, somewhere, what the postage should be???
Who pays these people who put this vital information together? Let's vote on whether they should keep their jobs or not!

I just received my ballot today, and the mail-back envelope says “official election mail, authorized by the U.S. Postal Service — no postage necessary in the U.S. Mail – DMM 703.8.0″ In the corner where you normally put a stamp, there is a box inside of which is the caption, “U.S. Postage Paid, 39 USC 3406.” I was suspicious, so I e-mailed the county clerk and was told I had to put $.59 on the envelope. I am from Las Animas County, and I wonder how many mail-in ballots will go uncounted because they did not have postage affixed to a “postage paid” envelope.

I mailed my ballot last week – it was 57 cents. The postal clerk at the 16th Street Mall station said he knew people had heard it would cost $1.17 but that hadn't been his experience.
